L'Abeille 2

Historically a manufacturer of soft drinks and syrups, L’Abeille is building a new plant in Mazières-en-Mauges, near Cholet, called L’Abeille 2.

A New Plant

Built on a 15-hectare plot, the future plant will have a footprint of 55,000 m² and will feature a high-bay warehouse (32 meters tall) capable of storing up to 40,000 pallets.

Production is expected to begin in February 2024: eventually, the plant will be equipped with twelve packaging lines, more than double the current Cholet plant.

The plant will be open to visitors, including schools and local residents, to showcase our trades and our roots in the local area.

L’Abeille is part of the LSDH group, based in the Loiret department, which collects milk from 80 producers in the Mauges region. This milk is currently pre-treated at La Jubaudière before being sent to the Varennes-sur-Fouzon dairy (Indre) for packaging. These operations will be fully transferred to the new plant, which will then produce milk cartons and bottles as well as soft drinks and syrups.

This new site was designed to save energy and water; for example, cleaning water consumption is expected to be reduced from 1.2 litres per package produced to 0.8 litres.
