500 Farmers Take Their Destiny Into Their Own Hands

In addition to the financial crisis, 2008 was marked by a sharp drop in milk prices. After the milk strike, 500 farmers decided to take charge of their own future by creating Faire-France in 2012.

FaireFrance markets milk that is collected and then packaged by LSDH, sold in more than 8,000 points of sale. One basic principle: the milk sold by FaireFrance must pay the producers involved in this initiative at a rate of 45 centimes.

Farmers in the Field

Dairy farmers carry out more than 1,000 in-store events each year, aiming to explain their profession, present the initiative and reassure consumers.

A Fair Trade Initiative on a European Scale

Faire Bel, Faire Milch, and d’Fair Mëllech are the European versions of the initiative. They all share a fair price paid to producers, allowing them to plan for the future and manage their farms sustainably.
